Meet the team

Tony Rudge

Tony is a practising consultant geophysicist with over 20 years of relevant experience in the onshore exploration industry. Tony has a Bachelor of Science (Earth Sciences) degree and a Master’s of Science (Geophysics) from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, graduating in 2000.

He is a senior Energy Industry executive with a strong technical background having worked as a geophysicist successfully discovering and commercialising oil and gas resources within onshore Australia. He has held senior Geophysical roles with small to medium E&P companies including CGG Australia, Central Petroleum and Buru Energy, and most recently with Thunderstone Energy. Thunderstone has been consulting to various companies including Mineral Resources, Strike Energy, DMIRS, Pancontinental Energy, Black Mountain Oil and Gas, Rey Resources and Petrex Australia.

Within Australia, he has operational experience in the Perth, Officer, Amadeus, Cooper-Eromanga, Pedirka and Canning Basins, with a particular focus on the development of the Ungani Oilfield. He has also worked on assets in East Kalimantan and Timor-Leste.

He has also worked as a consultant metallurgist for Ammtec Australia.

George Morris

Field consultant with a wide and varied range of experience in the oil exploration industry. A background in seismic surveying has evolved into a broad based consultancy dealing in virtually all phases of exploration and logistics. Contracts include seismic crew field supervision; permit acquisition, liaison between oil companies and statutory authorities, liaison with local landowners, logistical support for drilling operations, materials handling and transport logistics for drilling operations and environmental and safety auditing of field operations. An excellent overall understanding of the exploration business and its specific requirements allows correct decisions to be made immediately in the field, minimising delays and resultant cost over- runs.

Hamish Gordon

Hamish has over fifteen years’ experience in both on and offshore seismic acquisition in New Zealand, North Sea, Offshore West Africa, Offshore Greenland, Sakhalin Island, offshore Australia and Papua New Guinea.  Since 2005, he has managed numerous land and marine seismic surveys with a demonstrated knowledge of geophysical survey design and modelling, planning, project management and data quality control.

He finished working for Mont D’Or Resources as Senior Explorationist when the company closed its New Zealand operation in January 2016. In that role he managed the company’s New Zealand exploration programme including work programme planning, seismic reprocessing, geophysical and geological analysis.  He also undertook numerous reviews for the company of farm-in opportunities in both New Zealand and SE Asia.

He has worked for several small E&P companies in New Zealand and has excellent project management skills in managing both seismic surveys and drilling programmes, most recently on the 2017 Mangahewa-McKee 3D on which he was a QC representative.
